Abandoned Animal Rescue

Abandoned Animal Rescue (AAR) is a volunteer-managed nonprofit animal rescue and adoption center in Magnolia, Texas. Its mission is to reduce pet overpopulation and prevent the unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs. AAR provides shelter, adoption, foster care, veterinary support, spay/neuter assistance, pet-owner resources, and humane education while focusing on the physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being of animals in its care.

In Business Since 2002

AAR was founded in 2002 by Angie Fenton, Barbara Schulz, and James Gordon. It began in a converted liquor store before expanding to a larger property in the Hufsmith area. In 2016, AAR purchased seven acres in Magnolia and transformed the property into its current rescue and adoption center, including a cattery, clinic, kennels, offices, and dog exercise area.
