Fort Worth Animal Care & Control

Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) is a City of Fort Worth animal welfare and public-safety service responsible for animal sheltering, adoptions, reclaims, rescues, fostering, animal control, and community education. The department operates multiple adoption locations and provides resources addressing responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, lost pets, and pet overpopulation.

In Business Since 2020

Fort Worth Animal Care & Control has served the Fort Worth community through municipal animal-control and sheltering operations for many years. Its programs have expanded from traditional animal control to include foster care, rescue partnerships, animal transport, community education, and lifesaving initiatives. FWACC established its first formal foster program in 2015, later expanding its lifesaving and community-support programs.
