Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society was originally established in 1998 after a group of four community members organized efforts to create a no-kill shelter. Property was donated and community support helped establish the facility. The permanent shelter opened on January 20, 2001, following volunteer and donated construction work. Since then, CLASS has helped thousands of dogs and cats find homes.
