Rescue The Animals

Rescue the Animals, SPCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Abilene, Texas. It helps homeless and at-risk animals through rescue, rehabilitation, veterinary care, transportation, and adoption partnerships. The organization operates a rehabilitation and transportation center and works with rescue partners across the United States and Canada to give animals opportunities for permanent homes.

In Business Since 1999

Rescue The Animals began rescuing animals from the Abilene Animal Shelter in 1992 after its founders became concerned about animals running out of shelter time. The nonprofit was officially formed on March 8, 1999, and received federal tax-exempt recognition in March 1999. Since then, it has expanded into a regional rehabilitation and transportation network serving animals from throughout Texas and beyond.
